I’m experiencing either an underactive thyroid or perimenopause or maybe even both. I’m 33 and don’t know if to visit my regular doctor or my gynocologist? My symptoms are: fatigue, cold hands & feet, bit of depression, muscle spasms, hair loss, drowsiness, dizziness, heart palpitations, decreased libido and lubrication, major junk food craving, extremely light periods, very bloated and acne along jawline and under chin plus the area where the thyroid is is swollen and can feel a lump there. When I drink coffee I have major hot flashes for 10 minutes to an hour where before I didn’t. So wich doc should I visit? I feel more comfy with my gyno cause she’s a woman….

So wich doc should I visit? I feel more comfy with my gyno cause she’s a woman….
Mary you are obviously advertising for this company and I’m furious that even though I have more than just one symptom that something IS wrong with me you think a lube gel is going to take away everything else I have? I HAD an awesome sex life until about 3 weeks ago so NO…I don’t need your gel! You make me sick. Go advertise somewhere else!

I’m always pretty worried about my mom and her health. She’s 48 going on 49. She’s going through menopause or gone through, and she’s overweight. I’m only 19 years old, and I want her around as long as possible. And she’s taking thyroid and high blood pressure medicine. She went through some sort of tests at the doctor’s, and found out that her arteries and heart was fine. But, I’m still worried, because she doesn’t seem healthy. Now my uncle (her brother), had a severe thyroid problems as a young teenager that landed him in the hospital for months. He’s now been a “health nut” for a couple of decades and doesn’t take any medicine, and is perfectly healthy. In excellent shape. And I was just wondering what natural remedies are out there that actually work, and improve health. And I’m not trying to so much knock doctors and medicine off, but medicine seems to be stronger than ever, and people seem to be getting sicker. You take this pill, and the side effects cause you to take another. Some recipes, or methods would really help. Thanks in advance!!!

I haven't had a period in 6 months. There is no way I could be pregnant. I have been off the pill for over a year.I was on the pill because I had irregular and heavy periods and I told the Dr. I wanted to go off of them. Everything was fine until June/July 2007 then my periods stopped. I recently had blood work checked for PCOS and HPT both turned out negative!! I am only 26 so that rules out menopause. What the heck is wrong with me? My other complaints to go with this is: mood swings, acne, weight gain –even though I count every calorie I put in my body and stay fairly active, and stomach and back pain!! I am at my wits end! Not having a period is one thing but do I have to have these horrible things to go with it? BIG YUCK!! Has anyone else had these problems? And if so, how do you get rid of them?
I think that maybe I should give more info about myself. No I do not have an eating disorder. No I can not be pregnant because my hubby is fixed and I ain't screwin' around. Yes I have had my thyroid checked and everything is normal with it. I appreciate everyone's answers. I did, however, have an ultrasound that showed a few cysts but I was told that many women have them and usually they aren't anything to worry about. I haven't been stressing until here lately and now it is all I think about. At times, it seems as though my body is going through the "motions" of a period. Craving food, cramping, and bitchiness and then it all goes away like when you are over your cycle. It's strange I just would like to find out what the problem is and have it fixed.
